From June 30 to July 3, 2023, the historic festival dedicated to Friulian San Daniele Prosciutto in its territory of origin will be staged in San Daniele del Friuli.
The Prosciutto di San Daniele Consortium and the City of San Daniele del Friuli announce the 37th edition of Aria di Festa. The food and wine festival, after stopping in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic and after the Aria di Friuli Venezia Giulia formula held last year exceptionally in August, returns to its traditional location from June 30 to July 3, 2023.
Aria di Festa: A Four-Day Event
The four-day event, whose first edition dates back to 1985, will enliven the streets of the city with events and appointments to celebrate the deep bond that unites Prosciutto di San Daniele with its territory of origin. Aria di Festa presents itself as a transversal event where food and wine meets regional excellence, culture, good living and quality music, attracting tourists from Italy and abroad.
The 2023 edition will be enhanced by numerous activities dedicated to the promotion of Prosciutto di San Daniele. In fact, live cooking shows, thematic talks with prominent guests, master classes and sensory workshops dedicated to Prosciutto di San Daniele will be held.
Prosciuttifici will open the doors of their production facilities offering guided tours to discover the processing of San Daniele PDO, as well as an entertainment program and gastronomic offerings aimed at enriching the offerings during the four-day festival. The town’s historic center will be populated with food and wine stands to offer patrons tastings of Prosciutto di San Daniele paired with cheeses, baked goods and fruit, as well as numerous dishes starring this cured Friulian ham.

In addition, Aria di Festa 2023 joins Folkest, which, on its 45th anniversary, returns to its birthplace, San Daniele del Friuli. The festival dedicated to emerging European artists in the field of world music is part of the event, which is an important container of various excellences. The guests of this edition will follow the track of continuity with the great tradition of the festival and with the most recent musical history, to land in a program that opens the doors to the highest international professionalism of the great world of world music.
The event dedicated to San Daniele DOP will also be an opportunity to discover the historical-artistic beauties, such as the Guarneriana Library, and natural beauty of the place with guided tours of the city and surrounding area. The schedule will not lack events dedicated to other regional excellences, Friuli-Venezia Giulia wines and conviviality.
