Asti Docg Summer Events: A Symphony of Music, Wine, and Food

Music, rural competitions, exhibitions, daytime stops, and candlelit evening wine and food walks, not to mention the Palio di Asti, one of Italy’s oldest in medieval style, and the traditional Douja d’Or: these are just a few of the events of the lively itinerant summer program supported by the Consorzio Asti Docg.

A series of initiatives aimed at national and international tourists and wine lovers who choose to spend their holidays in the municipalities of the Unesco wine landscapes of the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, where the consortium represents the main Italian sparkling wine denomination.

Continuing until August 7th in Castagnole Lanze in the spaces of the former church of the Battuti Bianchi, Novant’anni di bollicine (Ninety Years of Bubbles), the itinerant exhibition – inaugurated in 2022 on the occasion of the Consortium’s first 90 years – tells the story of the evolution and socio-economic growth of the denomination through posters, films and images of the great sparkling wine houses that have made the history of advertising communication in the wine sector. The exhibition will then move to Acqui Terme (10 August – 15 October) and Santo Stefano Belbo (20 November – 20 January).

Wine is the absolute protagonist of the Acqui Wines Days, always in Acqui Terme, European City of Wine 2024, from 5 to 11 August. The Festa delle Figlie in Bubbio (24 August – 2 September) is all about food and wine and entertainment, while Asti prepares to celebrate its historic Palio on September 1st, which acts as a springboard for the Douja d’Or days (5-15 September). For sports lovers, the summer program closes with the Ultra Trail del Moscato 2024 – Dynamic Center, the three-day off-road competition with 4 race circuits (10-21-54 and 100 km) in Santo Stefano Belbo from 27 to 29 September.

From 21 September, TrEno, the first food and wine train in our country with a steam locomotive and 1930s carriages, will start whistling again. Five itineraries are proposed with departure from Turin Porta Nuova: Canelli and the Unesco underground cathedrals, Canelli from Moscato to Grappa, Nizza Monferrato and Barbera Docg, Acqui Terme and its Brachetto and Castagnole delle Lanze and Neive.
