Benvenuto Brunello 2022

Nine days of tastings between Montalcino and four international capitals, 135 wineries and more than 300 labels ready to be tasted: from November 11th to 21st, the 31st edition of Benvenuto Brunello – Italy’s longest preview reserved for the prince of Tuscan wines – goes on stage.

The International Brunello Day

This year’s event organized by the Consorzio del vino Brunello di Montalcino, will travel beyond the borders of the Tuscan village to move simultaneously to London, New York, Los Angeles and Toronto, where Brunello Day will be celebrated on November 17th.

Debuting in the cosmopolitan goblets dedicated to the wine that is among the most iconic globally, will be Brunello 2018 and the Riserva 2017, flanked by Rosso di Montalcino 2021 and the references of the appellation’s other two wines, Moscadello and Sant’Antimo.

More than 70 selected Italian and foreign journalists from Canada, the United States, Germany, Norway, France, the Netherlands and Poland will open the event. To these are added 12 Masters of Wine, the expert members of the most authoritative London organization capable of influencing the outlet channels of the entire supply chain, also arriving from China, India, the United Arab Emirates as well as other European countries.

Welcome to Benvenuto Brunello

The 31st edition of Benvenuto Brunello also marks the official start of the collaboration between the Consorzio del vino Brunello di Montalcino and the Vinitaly international Academy, with a special incoming project of 15 operators including journalists, buyers and influencers of the sector.

Not only tastings but also the presentation of the 2022 vintage and the traditional unveiling of the tile at the Teatro degli Astrusi on Saturday, November 12th, as well as the awarding of the 31st Leccio D’Oro and – in collaboration with Aset – the Gambelli prize to the best winemaker under 40.

On the following dates, space will be given to the trade Nov. 13th, sommeliers and patrons of starred restaurants on Nov. 14th, and local producers on Nov. 15th. While on Thursday, November 17, Montalcino will stop for Brunello Day in the US, UK and Canada.

Closing the Benvenuto Brunello program is the three-day tasting from Nov. 19-20-21 for Brunello enthusiasts.
