Abimis in Singapore: Two Tailored Visions of Stainless Steel Between Professional Rigour and Conviviality

From a high-performance culinary hub to a compact lounge for entertaining: how Abimis translates the art of bespoke stainless steel kitchens into the dynamic residential landscape of Singapore.

In Singapore—a metropolis defined by architectural innovation and contemporary living—Abimis introduces two distinct installations anchored by a shared philosophy: the kitchen as a bespoke, high-performance environment woven seamlessly into everyday life.

The two projects explore contrasting typologies. One is an expansive culinary hub engineered with professional precision; the other, a compact, hospitality-driven lounge tailored for informal entertaining. Both reflect the brand’s uncompromising focus on custom detailing, ergonomic flow, and the balance between architectural presence and pure functionality.

Atelier Line: Professional Ergonomics Meets Domestic Sophistication

For the primary residence, the brief called for an expansive layout capable of professional-grade culinary performance while preserving the warmth and understated elegance of a domestic interior. The outcome is a rigorously organized space tailored around the daily rituals and physical movements of its inhabitants.

Executed from the Atelier line—distinguished by doors with integrated groove or recessed handles—the kitchen is configured as an exacting, custom-engineered system optimized for intuitive workflow and high-capacity storage. High-performance appliances integrate into a bespoke configuration, punctuated by purpose-built elements such as a large custom refrigerator with six independent compartments and a dedicated spice larder. Above, upper units in stainless steel and black glass engage with the marble surfaces, finished to subtly echo and enhance the tones of the steel.

Stainless steel, the signature hallmark of Abimis, takes on a refined architectural dimension—rigorous in its geometry yet fluidly integrated into the domestic landscape. The technical vocabulary of professional kitchens is translated into balanced proportions and tactile finishes, curating an atmosphere that feels measured, functional, and inherently sophisticated.

Ego Line: Orbitally Polished Steel and the Art of the ‘Party Kitchen’

By contrast, the second project unfolds within a more intimate, informal setting: a dedicated party kitchen situated in an outbuilding conceived exclusively for conviviality and hospitality. Here, the architectural challenge centered on maximizing a compact footprint, optimizing every centimeter driven by precision bespoke craftsmanship.

Selected from the Ego line, the design pairs an orbitally polished stainless steel worktop with mirror-polished front panels inside a hybrid layout bridging indoor and outdoor living. Perimeter walls finished in matching orbital steel create absolute material continuity, seamlessly embedding the kitchen into its envelope. Above, the wall-mounted cabinetry alternates between enclosed storage, open shelving, and black glass accents.

The outcome is a compact, highly functional kitchen engineered to merge with its surroundings, transforming a tight footprint into an engaging hub for informal entertaining.

Tailored Engineering and the Contemporary Kitchen Experience

Across both Singapore commissions, Abimis articulates a clear vision: the kitchen as a bespoke, modular system where ergonomics, engineering, and refined materiality converge. Whether scaling up to professional performance for a private residence or unlocking the potential of a dedicated entertaining lounge, the philosophy remains singular—crafting high-performance environments shaped around individual living rituals.
