Officine Gullo has landed in Costa Rica, to create the kitchen of a luxury rental residence, The Hive. The residence, a very exclusive rental, boasts an exceptional location: directly on the sea along one of the most beautiful stretches of Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. Set to open in April 2022, The Hive will offer its guests the unique beauty of a panoramic terrace overlooking the sea, on one of the most beautiful stretches of the Papagayo Peninsula.

Inside Costa Rica’s The Hive, interior designer Maria Nella Hernandez of “Il Cantiere Inmobiliaria” dedicates a large space to the kitchen, where the Officine Gullo show kitchen plays a leading role, the fulcrum of experiences dedicated to cooking enthusiasts, such as show-cooking and tastings.
In combination with the burnished brass finishes, the color chosen is a splendid emerald green, a timeless, deep, and lush color that restores a sense of beauty, reconnecting perfectly with the surrounding nature. The custom-built kitchen is open and everything in the design was conceived so that the spaces would allow a dialogue between the chef and the guests, breaking down the barriers between the kitchen and the dining room of this luxury rental, just as happens in contemporary homes, where the kitchen opening onto the living room is increasingly a shared desire.
At the center of The Hive’s room is a kitchen island equipped with the following cooking functions: an induction cooking area, an electric pasta cooker, two professional high output burners, and an electric lava stone barbecue. These are all high-tech cooking appliances that stand out for their immediate power and high level of efficiency. On the side opposite the cooking area of the island, a shelf allows the island to be transformed into a counter around which customers can sit. Above the island, is a professional suspended pyramid hood with LED lights, an integrated cookware shelf, and a central bar with hooks.
Behind the island of the luxury rental, a made-to-measure corner kitchen completes the environment with a washing area with a brass wall sink and appliances such as a dishwasher, fridge-freezer with ice-maker, oven, and temperature-controlled wine cellar, open for tastings.
