Asian Inspirations

Styled spaces from Ethimo invite a desire to lay back in the fresh air and take in the beauty of the garden. Step into an outdoor world where placid tones, soft textures, and elegant forms invoke a sense of balanced tranquility. From the collaboration between Ethimo and Studio Zanellato/Bortotto comes Rotin, a lounge collection where shapes, color, and substance come together to narrate a new way of thinking about and experiencing outdoor spaces for relaxation and conviviality.

Asian Influence

With a structure in stained teak, composed of a sofa, lounge chair, coffee table and pouf, Rotin draws inspiration from the Asian tradition, which sees bamboo as a primary element in outdoor furniture, and from the techniques normally used in working with rattan complements.

Rotin reveals Ethimo’s unmistakable free spirit to always seek new and fascinating interpretations to inhabit the contemporary outdoor, it is a collection capable of surprising through novel combinations and its ‘soft’ elegance, which is expressed by the attention to detail, proportions and color inspired by an Asian influence.

With Rotin, Ethimo includes for the first time, in its product catalog, a line built entirely with structural technical padding: the soft upholstered items, made with performance materials and fabrics specifically for outdoor living, with a soft and comfortable hand and a special draining system, define and shape the very structure of the seats.

‘Tubulars’ of warm teak, joined with nautical rope, embrace the seats outlining their contours to create the structure of the coffee tables.

Ethimo’s Originality Outdoors

In addition to form and substance, Rotin is also color. Fabrics with intense nuances and surfaces with bold, bright hues, underscore the decorative value of the collection.

In particular, it is the coffee table tops that reveal a special creativity in the use of color, through unique patterns and extraordinary craftsmanship. The tops are constructed entirely by hand, made of glazed terracotta or marble from quarry waste slabs and cement, to create fascinating compositions inspired by the Palladian technique.

The original juxtaposition of these stone ‘details’ comes from the use of three marbles: Guatemalan Green, Cipollino and Bardiglio, and between them run concrete ‘joints’ that draw elegant geometries on the surface.

In a perfect balance between comfort and design, Rotin is a fresh and lively collection, a new proposal of beauty, functionality and ergonomics en plein air. In moments of relaxation or on occasions of conviviality, Rotin suggests, thus, pleasant experiences of well-being by creating warm and welcoming living spaces, an ideal collection capable of dazzling for indoor spaces as well.
