Ethimo’s Calipso collection, elegant and essential, is the result of careful compositional and stylistic research, oriented not only towards an unprecedented modularity and expressiveness of the complements, but towards a renewed dimension of wellness capable of creating refined ‘made-to-measure’ contexts.
Comfort, aesthetics, customisation and freedom of configuration describe the new outdoor furniture project by Ethimo and Ilaria Marelli.
“I thought of Calipso as a versatile project, with essential and elegant lines. A ‘system’ which, thanks to its modular soul, makes it possible to create multiple flexible and reconfigurable solutions, perfect for integration in the most diverse outdoor contexts,” says Ilaria Marelli. – Ilaria Marelli says: “It starts with the simplest configurations, such as a linear sofa or peninsula, and ends with a ‘system’ for the contract world that is potentially infinite, in terms of both length and composition. The real peculiarity of the concept is that all the elements that rest on the ‘oversize’ teak base can be freely positioned to be moved according to one’s taste and liking, offering the possibility of having a free space next to the seat to be used as a support surface or to be completed with an accessory surface”.
Calipso by Ethimo is available in three different modules, each of which consists of a base made of natural teak slats of different sizes. The aluminium structure is particularly discreet, suggesting the feeling that the lounge seating is suspended.
The soft cushions are available in three sizes and are “free” in relation to the base that houses them, which is wider than the volumes of the cushions themselves to allow maximum freedom in positioning each element, depending on requirements. The backrest cushions are also “free” and use a special support system to provide proper support for the body, thanks to the internal padding that combines different types of rubber density. Decorative cushions and armrests are available to enrich the seats.
Calipso by Ethimo by Ilaria Marelli is a collection of outdoor furniture that is available in melange white and light blue. The lounge collection is completed by coffee tables with aluminium frames and oval or round tops. The table tops are in Ice White or Emperador extra brown ceramic stone. Only in the round version, the table top is also available in enamelled lava stone. A practical tray in the same material as the oval tabletops can also be added to the tables and seats.
