A versatile synergy of wood and metal: Robert Stadler explores the boundary between art and industrial production for the 2026 collection.
Rooted in rigorous design research and linguistic experimentation, the creative dialogue between Ghidini1961 and Robert Stadler continues its ascent. Following the 2024 debut of the Tasca sofa and the 2025 evolution into the Flexor shelving system, the project achieves a new maturity.
Introducing the Flexor sideboards: a versatile collection for living and dining spaces, fully customizable in dimensions and finishes, where a palette of deep blue, red, and green now disrupts the traditional serenity of dove grey.
At the core of the system lies an extruded aluminum skeleton—the technical and aesthetic pulse dictating its extreme modularity. Supporting and interconnecting the wooden volumes, these solid metal elements allow for expansive compositional freedom, yielding bespoke solutions tailored to the diverse topographies of contemporary living.
Emerging with clarity is the distinctive signature of the Austrian designer. Known for a transversal and conceptual methodology, Stadler transcends traditional hierarchies separating one-off pieces from industrial production. Interrogating the boundary between art and design, his work questions the very essence of the object, challenging established dichotomies to redefine the identity of the artifact itself. The synergy highlights the high-manufacturing excellence of Ghidini1961, elevating both material and craftsmanship through a sophisticated, multi-faceted design logic.
Complementing the new Flexor sideboards, the Tasca sofa returns in a refined total white edition. The monochromatic choice accentuates one of the project’s most iconic elements: the reference to equestrian accessories, mirrored in the leather cushion pockets and precision metal hardware. Rigorous yet inviting, the seat remains an invitation to discover the unexpected within the details of form.
