Milan Coffee Festival

After a two-year stop, The Milan Coffee Festival returns November 12-14 for its third edition with a rich program of events that will transform the dynamic Lombard metropolis into the capital of coffee lovers.

Location in Milan

The Italian version of the international event celebrating coffee in all its declinations will once again be held at Superstudio Più in via Tortona, an iconic location in one of the historic and liveliest districts of the design Fuorisalone, which fits well with the format’s own characteristics of creativity and avant-garde vision.

Organized in the wake of the success of similar events in London, Amsterdam and New York, the festival, with its countless “live” experiences offered by suppliers of coffee and food, machinery and technical equipment, is an unmissable event not only for professionals and operators in the sector, but also for all lovers of the iconic drink.

Activities

The festival is a unique opportunity to take part in a series of free tastings, interactive workshops, demonstrations by acclaimed baristas, gourmet street food tastings and, last but not least, to also enjoy a reinterpretation of the classic Milanese aperitif with a signature coffee cocktail

Third edition

“The third edition of the Milan Coffee Festival once again pursues the ambitious goal of bridging the gap between the “new wave’ of artisanal coffee and the all-Italian tradition of espresso. – declares Ludovic Rossignol-Isanovic, co-founder of Allegra Events and creator of the Coffee Festival – The increasingly frequent openings of specialty coffee shops and the spread of artisanal micro-tourist shops throughout the Italian peninsula testify to how much this revolution is making its way even in the very homeland of espresso, where it all began.”

With more than 10,000 visitors expected, the 2022 edition of the Milan Coffee Festival will showcase the kaleidoscopic and multifaceted landscape of the industry by welcoming the countless professionals of the roasting world-independent coffee shops, mass market chains, catering managers, hotels, restaurant groups-and consumers who are passionate about the drink. With a hybrid formula that combines one day reserved for professionals and two open to the consumer public, the event will offer exhibitors multiple opportunities to engage directly with key stakeholders, coffee shop owners, operators, baristas and incurable coffee lovers.

The Milan Coffee Festival will play host to an exciting series of competitions, contests and stage performances centered around coffee. Of particular note are LATTE ART LIVE, an interactive area dedicated to the highly popular discipline of Latte Art with hands-on workshops, exhibitions and challenges, and THE LAB, an extensive program of workshops designed to offer visitors interactive demonstrations, lectures and lively debates on topical issues related to the world of coffee. This year’s edition will also welcome back THE ROASTER VILLAGE, a meeting point for small, quality Italian roasters, who will have the opportunity to serve and showcase their fine specialty coffees.

Specialty coffee

For the third edition of the festival, THE ROAST MASTERS, the coffee world’s innovative contest focused on the art of roasting specialty coffees and reserved for the best roasters on the planet, also returns with an all-new format. Twenty Italians among the category leaders will take part, competing in teams of three in frantic knockout head-to-head competitions. There will be four disciplines – The Espresso Smackdown, The Latte Art Showdown, The Brew Faceoff and The Signature Drink – in which the candidates will compete, examined by a panel of expert judges.

Last but not least, The Milan Coffee Festival will also be a moment for solidarity. Ten percent of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the non-profit organization Project Waterfall in support of its mission to ensure water supplies to coffee-producing countries.
