Luca Martorano and Mattia Albicini (Draw Studio) deconstruct the dining table archetype through a structural duality inspired by nature. Islas functions not as a static object, but as a domestic landscape reminiscent of atolls: independent elements that generate a fluid, changing geography.
The design thrives on contrast: the tabletop, defined by organic curves and tight arcs, appears suspended above a monolithic foundation. Here, solid marble blocks intersect with tapered metal wedges, creating a visual tension between lithic weight and metallic precision. The interplay articulates a dialectic between the spontaneous and the rigorous, merging artisanal stone processing with advanced manufacturing. The result is a visionary work hovering between solemnity and dynamism, restraint and audacity.
Birky Chairs | Design by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti
A study in formal purity. Birky is designed to integrate into the architectural context with silent authority, enriching the scene without saturating it. The design traces a continuous, soft line that pays homage to femininity, recalling the sinuous elegance of a woman’s back while ensuring an advanced ergonomic experience.
The aesthetic rejects ostentation in favor of a tailored approach, highlighted by the visible zip: a deliberate reference to the worlds of fashion and leather goods that delineates the geometry of the seat with graphic precision, transforming a functional element into a signature of style.
Eos Pendant Lamp | Design by Draw Studio
A reference to the archetype of the classical Greek column. Eos condenses architecture into a lighting object of singular proportions (10x10x72 cm). The cylindrical body is defined by vertical grooves—a functional ornament that provides plasticity to the stone surface. When illuminated, this fluting fracture the light, creating a rhythmic chiaroscuro effect. Arranged in clusters, the pendants act as aerial micro-architecture, balancing the solidity of matter with the ethereal quality of light.
Onis Sideboard | Design by Draw Studio
Onis investigates the structural syntax of suspension. Referencing the engineering logic of bridges, the design balances the visual gravity of marble against the lightness of the void. The cantilevered structure operates as an architectural fragment, where the inherent weight of the stone is offset by a rigorous metal framework.
The defining aesthetic feature is the interaction between materials: oxidized and acidified metal creates a sophisticated counterpoint to the natural veining of the stone. A precise L-shaped groove runs along the front—a graphic sign that strips the opening gesture down to its essence. The interior reveals a shift in tactile quality: drawers lined in leather and metal transform the storage unit into a tailored protective case, safeguarding the contents with discreet elegance.
