When it comes to quality products, one cannot ignore top-notch stays like those at The Sense Experience Resort, located in the enchanting Gulf of Follonica.
Overlooking the beach of Torre Mazza, it is a corner of paradise immersed in nature that, among the many experiences available, also offers tours of the local wineries such as Petra Winery, Rocca di Frassinello, Tenuta Meraviglia, Tenuta Le Colonne, Le Mortelle, Tenuta Argentiera, and Ornellaia, which embody the essence of this area.
Another unique experience is that of Ornellaia winery, which combines a guided tour of the estate’s historic vineyards and cellars with a tasting of the five best wines produced here, accompanied by traditional olive oil grissini.
The winery was founded in 1981 and has always been synonymous with excellence. Nothing is left to chance here, and each vineyard is identified according to its potential and final destination, with methods and measures always focused on the sustainability of the territory. The wines are works of art, and for each new vintage, an internationally renowned artist signs a series of 111 large-format bottles for the winery. Many of the bottles produced here, such as Bolgheri Rosso Ornellaia, are always present on the most exclusive tables in the world, projecting Made in Italy to international excellence.
Another experience offered by The Sense Experience Resort is at Tenuta Meraviglia, located in the middle of a fascinating, still wild scenario overlooking the sea from a privileged position. The vineyards are just a few kilometers from the Tyrrhenian coast, on the first hills, in an ideal position immersed in a mild and gentle climate.
Here, over 30 hectares are cultivated, of which 11 are dedicated to the production of Bolgheri DOC wines, and all the vineyards are managed under organic farming, ensuring maximum genuineness.
The proposed tour includes visits to the vineyards and the barrel cellar, continuing on the I Pianali hills where a tasting is arranged with typical Tuscan cheeses, all surrounded by a breathtaking panorama.
The Tenuta Argentiera Estate is the closest to the sea of all the Doc Bolgheri wineries: located in the southern tip of the Castagneto Carducci area, it is situated at some of the highest altitudes in the denomination. Its 153 hectares of land contain a unique biodiversity that gives rise to great wines.
