Taste the Stars at High Altitude

From January to March, the exclusive Super G alpine club in Courmayeur will host Taste the Stars, an unprecedented series of gastronomic experiences starring top chef Andrea Berton and three young talents from the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy project.

S.Pellegrino, for over 120 years a symbol of excellence and an ambassador of the Italian art of living, has signed an exclusive series of gastronomic events to be experienced in the most famous mountain resort in the Alps: the Super G club in Courmayeur will host Taste the Stars, a special initiative created by S.Pellegrino to promote young talents in a unique context that turns cooking into an authentic experience.

The Dates for Taste the Stars

Three appointments will be held between January and March. Three young chefs, chosen from the most talented protagonists of the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy project, will be invited to express themselves alongside Andrea Berton, chef and owner of Berton Milano restaurant and since 2019 head of the Super G food offerings. The aim will be to win over the public with original four-handed menus served to the rhythm of 70s-90s music. Each dish will be paired with a song that represents it, selected by the chefs together with Super G’s Master of Music, who will design the exclusive playlist for each evening.

The Master of Ceremonies, Andrea Baccuini, Managing Director of 5 Club srl, will mark the highlights of the evening and enrich the tasting experience, presenting the dishes and the accompanying music to the public.

Alessandro Bergamo, Italian finalist of the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy Competition 2021 will be the first chef to present on Saturday 22 January. The menu will consist of a four-course entrée, two created by Andrea Berton and two by Alessandro Bergamo, who will also create the starter of flamed trout, potato puff pastry and smoked cream.

This will be followed by Andrea Berton’s first course, risotto alla cacciatora, while Bergamo will be back with his braised veal shank with carrots, orange and sage. The dining experience will end with a dessert by Andrea Berton, yogurt and mango egg.

On Saturday 12 February, the club audience will be able to experience the cuisine of Alessandro Rapisarda, chef patron of Casa Rapisarda in Numana, Ancona and Italian SPYC finalist in 2016.

On Saturday 5 March, the final event will feature Antonio Romano, executive chef at the Castello di Fighine restaurant in the province of Siena and Italian winner of the Fine Dining Lovers Food for Thought Award 2021.

In a special context where the relationship between good food and music has always been the appreciated fil rouge that characterises the offer of Super G, Taste the Stars is an opportunity to discover some of the most interesting young chefs on the Italian scene.

This is a special initiative that showcases S.Pellegrino’s commitment to young chefs, which is taking concrete form in the development of an important and far-reaching project – the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy, an international platform that aims to involve young chefs and the most influential and representative members of the world of gastronomy, thereby establishing a permanent training workshop for an increasingly inclusive and international network of professionals.

The “Taste the Stars” series of dinners is part of these initiatives, as it pairs a top chef of the calibre of Andrea Berton, who in 2016 was also one of the judges of the Italian final of the S.Pellegrino Young Chef competition, and three of the protagonists of the most recent editions. The event gives them a chance to create side by side in the name of sharing, comparison and dialogue between the cuisine of today and tomorrow.
