Aria di San Daniele. The traveling tour organized by the Consortium Prosciutto di San Daniele, now in its fifth edition, will open its doors on 22 March in Rome.

The event was created with the aim of presenting and promoting one of the most famous Italian gastronomic excellences in the world, namely Prosciutto di San Daniele DOP, which is deeply linked to the place where it is produced and is the result of a centuries-old tradition and knowledge handed down from generation to generation.

A festival full of appointments cadenced by a series of events organized in selected places – restaurants, wine bars, and taverns – to present and promote the product to consumers and operators in the Ho.Re.Ca. sector.

Celebrating San Daniele

During the evenings of the event, it will be possible to taste San Daniele in different forms, in its original flavor, thanks to the skillful hands of expert slicers, or presented in traditional dishes and creative recipes proposed by the chefs of the restaurants that will host Aria di San Daniele. An opportunity to learn about its distinctive characteristics and qualities or to receive some advice on how to slice it and store it artfully at home, so that it can always be enjoyed at its best.

“Aria di San Daniele represents an important opportunity for the Consortium Prosciutto di San Daniele to raise awareness and appreciation of the values of San Daniele DOP within one of the main sectors, the Ho.Re.Ca. sector – says Mario Emilio Cichetti, General Manager of the Consortium – The first four editions of the tour, launched in 2017, generated over 200 aperitif evenings in the main Italian cities and will resume after stopping in 2020 and after last year’s shortened version”.

After the first stage in the capital, from 22 to 24 and then from 28 to 20 March, the Aria di San Daniele itinerant format will move in April to Turin, from 10 to 13 and from 19 to 21, and to Bergamo, from 26 to 28. The event will then land from 3 to 10 May in Milan, before reaching the city of Verona from 15 to 18 May.

The tour will continue in central and southern Italy in the second half of the year, stopping off in Perugia, Bari, Matera, Naples and Palermo.
