The countdown is on for the return of the Chianti Lovers and Rosso Morellino Preview at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence.
Chianti Lovers and Rosso Morellino 2023
With less than a month to go before the event scheduled for February 12th, the Chianti Wine Consortium and the Morellino di Scansano DOCG Consortium are beginning to unveil the first details of the intense program: more than 400 labels will be offered for tasting, half of which will be new vintages offered as previews by more than 120 wineries.
Also for 2023, Chianti Lovers & Rosso Morellino will be concentrated in a single day of tastings in which multiple areas will be set up, including the tasting room, reserved for accredited journalists, and the exhibition area with tasting counters in the presence of producers.
Morellino di Scansano Annata 2022 and Riserva 2020
“We arrive at this edition of Chianti Lovers & Rosso Morellino as an appellation that is increasingly perceived among those of reference in Tuscan wine,” says Bernardo Guicciardini Calamai, president of the Morellino di Scansano DOCG Consortium. “We are recording a growing index of consumer approval, which has led to consolidate the positioning of Morellino di Scansano also in the Ho.Re.Ca. channel. At the Fortezza da Basso tasting counters, we will present to trade operators, the press and wine lovers the Previews of the Annata 2022 and Riserva 2020, showcasing, with more than 100 labels, the territorial nuances in the different interpretations of the Sangiovese that overlooks the sea.”
Special Vintage Chianti
“We are approaching this eighth edition of the Preview with great enthusiasm,” comments the president of the Chianti Wine Consortium, Giovanni Busi, “because we will present our Chianti Lovers with two truly special vintages. Chianti 2022 and Chianti Riserva 2020, in fact, are two products of excellent quality and as a Consortium, alongside the producers, we are very proud to be able to share them with our most loyal audience. This Preview will be a day of celebration for us.”
