The Colors of Glass : Murrine Collection by Coralla Maiuri

At Milan Design Week, Roman artist and designer Coralla Maiuri brings her vibrant world of colors, light and shapes in a collection that first becomes an artistic object, then evolving into elements to be used in everyday life.

Coralla Maiuri since 2017 is also a company based also in Rome, desired by Coralla and her husband Filippo, with the collaboration of their children and a group of passionate young artists and artisans.

A luxury brand of tableware, gifts and one-of-a-kind pieces with a refined, contemporary style. Each prototype is personally designed and painted by Coralla, who then instructs the workshop decorators to recreate works that are never identical.

Among the 2024 novelties is the Murrine collection whose inspiration comes from the famous Venetian glassware, small circular spheres full of colors, like intricate kaleidoscopes. On the edges of its plates, Coralla’s murrines open and break apart, scattering crystals like colored flower seeds.

This collection consists of four predominant colors: Yellow, Green, Lilac and Gray. They convey cheerfulness, lightness and harmony, a feeling that is enhanced by mixing the colors on the table.

Coralla Maiuri’s creations seem to fall from the sky or emerge from the earth: plates, bowls, mugs, vases, jars and centerpieces are all universes that reflect her art.
