Contemporary art and excellent mixology meet on April 18 in Milan at an aperitif organized by DaDa in Taverna, the Dadaist Milan restaurant and mixology bar where every artistic form finds its perfect harmony.
The futuristic cocktails developed by the concept, in fact, will accompany the first edition of the traveling exhibition “Ill at ease,” which, involving some of the most acclaimed artists and designers on the international scene (Ron Arad, Khaled El Mays, Misha Kahn, Krista Kim, Six N Five, Tobias Rehberger, Andrés Reisinger), joins the public, instead of being joined by it, subverting the logics of one of the most decentralized events in the world: the Fuorisalone.
The Milan Design Week Mixology Event
Somewhere between an extravagant salon and an art exhibition, the initiative – conceived by Studio Leggero with curators Luisa Ausenda and Caterina Taurelli Salimbeni and scheduled from April 18 to 22 – will welcome visitors within a setting that is always new, as it is adapted from time to time to the squares and courtyards where it will fit. A 7-meter van, equipped with indoor and outdoor projectors, will activate the relationship with the city by projecting works on the surrounding architecture and will welcome visitors inside NOMA, the immersive Active Room, giving them a unique experience.
Inaugurating this journey of “Ill at ease” will be the splendid Piazza Tomasi di Lampedusa, in the 5VIE district, now considered the slow district of the Milanese capital between history, artisan workshops and now also design. The same location in which, on the corner with Via Morigi, stands DaDa in Taverna.
That’s why Paolo Anzil and Davide La Grotteria, founders and souls of the venue, are organizing, for Milan Design Week on Tuesday, April 18, an exclusive aperitif, open to the public and dedicated to all lovers of art,Fuorisalone and mixology, who will be able to watch the podcast made live by designer and artist Khaled El Mays.
Signature Cocktails in Milan
Four different signature cocktails have been specially designed for the occasion, extremely sophisticated and never mundane, inspired by futurist drinking and the natural synergy between the elements that compose them: the Negro – in – white, with Gin Melifera, Vermouth Dry Garbata, Bitter Roma Silvio Carta; the iridescent Polybibita, made with Gin & Tonic Deux Freres and tonic le Tribute; the Rossettini, with sparkling wine, Strawberry, balsamic and verbena; and, finally, the Campari shaken Ill at ease by Dada, composed of Gin Plymouth, Campari, Lime and Timut pepper mother tincture.
