La Casa di Roger

A location in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma where guests can feel at home while living unique experiences. La Casa di Roger is part of the artisanal winery Poggio Cagnano in its stupendous location overlooking the Argentario sea. This precious area of the region is known for its rolling woods, green hills, natural thermal baths, blue sea, black rocks, and long beaches, as well as its renowned wine production.

Poggio Cagnano’s La Casa di Roger

The Tuscany-based winery Poggio Cagnano inaugurates La Casa di Roger, a wine tourism proposal for travelerslooking not only for good wine and quality food but also for an inclusive experience where they can experience complete traditional Maremma hospitality.

Eleonora Mori and Alessandro Gobbetti are ready to welcome their guests to the new dwelling surrounded by vineyards, olive trees, and oak woods, from where it is possible to admire a splendid view of the wildest part of Tuscany while catching a glimpse of every island in the Argentario Gulf, all just a few steps from Manciano located in Grosseto.

The property, which has been completely renovated in recent years, can be booked either entirely for vacations dedicated to groups of friends and families or for single rooms and has a suite, two double rooms, and a single room, each with a private bathroom and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

The interior design was conceived by Alessandro and Eleonora, who were inspired by local Maremma traditions, creating a cozy solution in which modern and rural coexist, with local materials, along with several iconic furnishings from the 1950s.

Genuine and Refined Dining

Born in Switzerland and raised in Maremma, Eleonora Mori is a young chef who has significant experience in the quality restaurant industry, from Tufo Allegro to La Corte del Ceccottino in Pitigliano, and from I Due Cippi in Saturnia to Ratanà in Milan.

Her cooking adds a refined and unmistakable touch to the hospitality on offer. Eleonora combines her catering professionalism with a cuisine enriched with the raw materials grown directly by her hands in the garden next to the house, where she always finds fresh seasonal vegetables with which to make her dishes.

Here, every meal of the day, from breakfast to dinner, is transformed into a personal and inimitable tasting experience. Guests can sample the delights of the Tuscan culinary tradition and more: in fact, those who wish can book private lunches or dinners, even without an overnight stay, where Eleonora creates tailor-made menus to satisfy every fantasy. Also available are cooking classes and vegetable garden care courses: participants have the opportunity to learn traditional recipes and all the secrets of sustainable cooking, attentive to zero-mile raw materials.

Experiencing the Tuscan Maremma

La Casa di Roger, in addition to delighting the palates of those who are welcomed, offers many other services for a complete experience from every point of view: for those who wish, it is possible to visit the beauty of the Tuscan Maremma in a unique and engaging way through the rental of E-Bikes or with the organization of boat tours; visitors can also reserve massages and treatments to revitalize and unwind.

The property is located a few kilometers from the Terme di Saturnia and historic villages such as Capalbio, Pitigliano, Montemerano, Sovana, and Sorano. “Our vision of Guest House is a place where people can relax and regenerate immersed in nature in every possible way,” recounts Alessandro Gobbetti. “We are very happy to be able to offer all these activities and share a beautiful territory together with our guests who should feel at home here.”

Last but not least, the opening of La Casa di Roger joins the wine tourism offer of Poggio Cagnano. Guests will always have the opportunity to discover the property’s winery, organic wines, oil, and even its small production of honey.
