A luxurious resort chalet located in the renowned and refined mountain resort of Cervinia, Chalet Il Gufo is a project designed by Bettiol Architecture of Aosta and built by interior contractor Concreta.
A completely new structure, Chalet Il Gufo is synonymous with refinement and elegance in the quality of the materials used, for a superior level of comfort. The intention of the client was in fact to create an accommodation that would provide the feeling of being in a private residence while at the same time catering to guests with entertainment areas, such as the gaming room and relaxation areas, spa and swimming pool.

Step Inside Chalet Il Gufo
The Chalet is spread over four levels including the lower ground floor; in the latter we find the indoor pool area with the spa including a sensory shower and a Turkish bath, separated from the other rooms by a glass door.
Also on the lower ground floor is the gaming room, equipped with a bar area and service bathroom, cinema area, and the ski room for ski storage, with direct access from the SKI-IN SKI-OUT ski slope, which features full-wall cabinets and a carbon gray wood bench positioned in the center of the room.
Opposite the spa, an outdoor terrace accommodates an additional lounge area beside the ski slope with views of the Matterhorn where there is a hot tub and a relaxation area with grills.
The ground floor houses the living spaces and communicates with an outdoor area where there is a lounge area to take in the beauty of the stream that runs parallel to the property and the forest that surrounds it.
Guests are welcomed from the moment they enter the Chalet into a warm environment with a cozy atmosphere. Every detail is taken care of from the choice of furniture, to the furnishings and finishes, tailored to enhance well-being.
The intervention entrusted to Concreta saw the company involved in all phases of the Chalet’s construction with custom-made elements.
Chalet Il Gufo is distinguished by its unique, at times Nordic, style, which is expressed in shades of gray and tones of dark colors. While remaining a primary material used, natural wood in its classicity, characteristic of typical private mountain residences, has been worked and treated to achieve particular tones of color.
The floors and stairs are made of oak with a smoky finish, while the beams and some of the furniture are made of pine wood, with a special finish called carbon grey.
The living area is divided into a living area and a dining area. The living room’s main feature is the centrality of the fireplace, which creates atmosphere making the room warm and cozy. A table dominates in the dining area, enhanced by a hanging lighting system that combines functionality, illuminating the environment, with aesthetics, in a decorative vision.
The kitchen is characterized by the presence of a key central element, an island which has been conceived down to the smallest detail. The wall units are made with an ad hoc lacquer finish, while the walls are covered with decorative tiles reminiscent of the Italian style of yesteryear.
On the second floor of the Chalet are four rooms intended for the facility’s guests and a mezzanine open to the living room below. The latter is used as a lounge area, where the bar takes center stage, accompanied by a seating area with wooden chairs and tables. A glazed railing illuminates the mezzanine and allows views of the living area below.
Guest rooms include four double rooms with private baths including two double rooms and two rooms with single beds. One of the hallmarks of this project, at the behest of the owners, is that each room is entirely different from the next in layout, materials, and the feeling it conveys.
The top floor houses the master bedroom and children’s room. Upon disembarking the landing, one arrives in front of an alcove, carved out of a wooden alcove, facing a window that allows not only light to illuminate the floor, but also to enjoy the outdoor view of the Matterhorn that characterizes the structure. Also on this floor, the rooms are all unique, designed down to the smallest detail, enhanced by the exposed wooden attic that offers a unique height.
Unique to the master bedroom are the mix of wall coverings, where wood frames the imposing headboard wall bed covered with full-height upholstery that makes the room special and unique. Also inside is a walk-in closet that communicates via frosted glass with the master bathroom, which also provides natural light in this area, and the ensuite bathroom with classic, retro notes, where there are both a tub and a shower.
The children’s room is designed to be multidimensional in the name of recreation. In addition to the bunk beds, it is possible to play on a climbing wall and get to the “den,” a secret lofted den above the entrance to the room.
