Montelvini Wins the Crown of Vinibuoni d’Italia

The Veneto winery, ambassador of bubbly from Asolo, receives the highest recognition of the Italian Touring Club Guide with Serenitatis Asolo Prosecco Superiore Docg Extra Brut Millesimato 2021.

The Award-Winning Wines of Montelvini

Montelvini is back on the podium of Vinibuoni d’Italia for the second year in a row: receiving the Corona, the highest award given by the guide. Serenitatis Asolo Prosecco Superiore Docg Extra Brut Millesimato 2021 is a label that, with its quiet sensory balance between sugar content – slightly lower than average – and body, expresses the universe of Asolo’s scents and colors.

This wine boasts other major international accolades as well, such as the gold medal for Gilbert&Gaillard, the red seal at The WineHunter Award 2022 of the Merano Wine Festival, medal for both Decanter and IWSC, as well as having scored an impressive 91 points in the Falstaff Sparkling Special ranking.

After last year’s edition, which saw the Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG Extra Dry Serenitatis awarded, the Veneto winery confirms its leadership within the Italian Touring Club’s guide, the only one dedicated to wines from native Italian grape varieties – a list that is compiled each year through a careful selection process from the more than 30,000 samples received.

Of the 864 wines that made it to the finals in the 2023 edition, the only Asolo Prosecco Extra Brut to have received the Crown is that of Montelvini: it is a signature wine of Serenitatis, a collection created to celebrate the more exclusive and refined side of Montelvini DOCG bubbly, as the result of an innovative process of sparkling wine-making that reduces the steps of vinification and guarantees an increase in the amount of oxygen, limiting the amount of sulfites added to ultimately obtain a product that is as natural as possible.

The grapes are finely selected with great attention to detail, ensuring an organoleptic harmony of every single aromatic component of the Glera grape variety. With a delicate but consistent perlage, a range of colors that fade from straw yellow to green, and a bouquet studded with ample and slightly fruity floral notes, Serenitatis Asolo Prosecco Superiore Docg Extra Brut Millesimato 2021 is distinguished by an innate elegance that is the fruit of the grapes from which it is made. On the palate, the sensation is one of creaminess and envelopment, where CO2 and alcohol content are balanced with a distinct acidity and zest.
