Spring is in the air and so is the desire for outdoor living, time spent basking in the warmth of the sun, socializing with friends, swimming in a pool, dining under the stars, and all of those happy moments that the warmer weather and longer days seem to so effortless invite. And the latest trends from the world of design call to a lifestyle that creates an experience of outdoor design that is a true extension of interior living spaces. Seamlessly choosing the right pieces that merge these two realities becomes an essential vehicle for creating terraces and gardens, whether residential or contract, that speak of serenity and envelope the onlooker with a reflection of the location’s unique identity.
Pedrali’s Protagonist for Outdoor Living
Sofas characterized by soft water-repellent padding, handcrafted woven seats or made from recycled materials are the protagonists of outdoor comfort by Pedrali, which offers design and functional solutions. Collections designed and made to ensure the well-being of users, defined by excellent technical performance and aesthetic yield, in a perfect harmony of nuances and materials, thanks also to the choice of fabrics with refined textures designed specifically for outdoor use.
Made from high-quality materials, these collections guarantee resistance to different weather conditions, easy cleaning, and durability.
An armchair designed for being outdoors, but which finds its place anywhere you want to pause in sweet calm is Lamorisse, designed by CMP Design. Its aluminum frame makes it perfect for a waterfront veranda, shady patios, a poolside table, and even the deck of a ship. Its ultra-lightweight frame, made of extruded aluminum, with oval-section legs welded to a round-section armrest, accommodates a generously soft and enveloping cushion.
The main feature of this armchair is the contrast between the supporting structure, an understated shaped frame, and the rich, cozy cushion. The seat is supported by elastic straps essential to give extreme comfort and strength, which almost disappear to focus attention on the cushion, composed of several sections joined by a zipper and folded to create a shell.
Outdoor Design for Summer Dreaming
Pedrali outdoor sofas create micro-worlds of comfort en plein air. Reva Cocoon, whose very name evokes relaxing, dreamy atmospheres, features soft lines and generous dimensions. Designed by Patrick Jouin, it is a piece of furniture that adapts and composes itself in different ways to ensure extreme comfort and customization, proposing a new concept of elegance thanks to pure lines and a refined look.
It features prominent stainless steel backrests covered with a weather-resistant polypropylene rope weave made in Italy by expert craftsmen. The wrap-around concept is also enhanced by the soft cushions that rest on the frame and by cushions available in different shapes: rectangular, square, and round.
With its generous volumes and high backrests, Reva Cocoon creates a space within a space, offering protection and shelter from the outdoors for those who have chosen to carve out a moment of relaxation and escape.
Key Pieces Create the Ambiance
Interweaving also defines Odo Fioravanti’s Babila Twist armchair, made of steel and featuring a wide, cozy seat. Again, the weave covering the shell is made from a flat, weather-resistant polypropylene rope. A comfortable cushion upholstered in draining polyurethane foam, capable of drying quickly, covered with outdoor fabric, rests on the seat.
Suitable for home living but also for lounge areas in contract and hospitality environments, Nolita Sofa by CMP Design is a piece of furniture that confirms its summery and sunny character, characterized by simple and iconic forms, where the steel tube structure gives visual rhythm and gentle proportions, guaranteeing maximum solidity and durability.
The Nolita sofa retains the collection’s own traits of transparency and lightness, the comfort of which is enhanced by the soft polyester cushions protected by a waterproof cover and upholstered with polypropylene or outdoor fabrics. The versatility of the Nolita sofa lies in the possibility of combining different modules with each other: linear or corner with right or left armrest.
Lounge seating systems that encapsulate the comfort and elegance of an indoor sofa, such as Arki-Sofa, are characterized by geometrically shaped cushions and generous thicknesses that rest on a light structure supported by elastic straps, while backrests and armrests are defined by a distinctive teak detail. Thanks to the presence of linear modules and chaise longue, Arki-Sofa allows for multiple compositions to meet the needs of space and customization.
Another new addition is Souvenir, designed by Eugeni Quitllet. Available as a chair or armchair, Souvenir stems from a desire to reinterpret the classic green chairs found in the Jardin des Tuileries or Jardin du Luxembourg, world-renowned icons of Paris. Souvenir takes the iconic form of these chairs and reinterprets it through the use of a new material. The result is a one-piece seat made of polypropylene and designed specifically for outdoor use.
The soft shapes and three-dimensional slats make Souvenir’s seat very comfortable. Its legs widen at the end, converging into a characteristic foot.
In order to continue the company’s path of supporting environmental sustainability, Souvenir is available in a “recycled grey” version made of recycled polypropylene: 50 percent from post-consumer plastic waste and 50 percent from industrial plastic waste.
From Dubai to Singapore in Style
Pedrali’s outdoor collections have been chosen by designers to furnish outdoor locations around the world, such as Khufu’s restaurant in Giza. Here, CMP Design’s Panarea armchairs furnish the outdoor terrace from which one can enjoy a splendid view of the majestic pyramids.
The Panarea collection is also the protagonist of the outdoor space of Alain Ducasse’s Osteria BBR inside the Raffles hotel in Singapore, the terrace of the restaurant DAV Milano by Da Vittorio, a unique venue in the modern heart of Milan, and the Amandus restaurant of the five-star hotel Villa Lario Resort, overlooking Lake Como.
In Dubai, for the new Eataly at the Beach location overlooking the Persian Gulf, in addition to the Panarea armchairs we find the Soul Outdoor armchairs, designed by Eugeni Quitllet.
