Le Calette: Sicily’s Seaside Oasis of Peace and Beauty

Le Calette in Sicily, an oasis of peace along Cefalù’s enchanting coastline and an admired example of high Sicilian hospitality – managed for more than 50 years by the Cacciola-Miccichè family – reopens with a renovation project that features new authentic and exclusive experiences tailored so guests can fully experience the beauty and richness of the surroundings.

With its terraces, green paths, and lush gardens directly overlooking the crystal clear waters that draw a true Eden on the sea, Le Calette establishes itself among the most beautiful and special destinations in all of Sicily.

Le Calette N°5

Indeed, the concept goes one step further to make its hospitality even more attractive and to meet the needs of all those guests who wish to enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings in total privacy.

The year 2023 is synonymous with evolutions and expansions, and this is why Le Calette N°5 is expanding with the creation of the Garden Cabana Rooms, a new addition to this alluring paradise, consisting of nine additional sea-facing rooms.

An unprecedented type of room, distinguished by the intimacy of a private garden with its jacuzzi surrounded by the quiet of nature in which it is immersed, in the heart of the hotel’s Mediterranean park.

The addition features a more minimal design than the main body but is still inspired by Mediterranean architecture, with olive wood elements and hazelnut and gray shades, in tune with the outdoor environment to enhance the Sicilian land.

Tasting Sicily at Cala Luna

With the arrival of Dario Pandolfo at the helm of Le Calette’s gourmet offering, Cala Luna, a fine dining restaurant perched during the summer season under the stars on a large lawn with an open kitchen and an unobstructed view of the sea, has over a very short time established itself among the best Italian openings of the year.

Dario Pandolfo’s success has been further confirmed in recent months thanks to his participation in two of the most important international food and wine events: the Identità Golose conference and CARE’s, laying all the groundwork for a new Sicilian destination.

Cala Luna, with its 30 covers, presents a proposal of lively and local cuisine in a contemporary key developed entirely to enhance the immense gastronomic heritage of the area through the use of prime ingredients from local farms and producers. His two tasting menus – “Come to Sicily with Me” and “Sicilian Freedom” – are the full expression of what it means for Dario to cook in his homeland and are like embarking on a gastronomic journey of flavors guided by the chef through this spellbinding region.

Discovering Cefalù and Beyond

The experiences created by Le Calette aim to convey a sense of Sicilian hospitality and to unite its travelers with the territory. In addition to the “Greeting the Sun” on the imposing Rocca di Cefalù – a UNESCO site – and tours led by art and history experts to the wonders of the town and its “twin” Norman sites, there are exciting new features this year thanks to the purchase of a boat and the success of the new family bakery.

With the arrival of an offshore dinghy, it will be possible to go swimming in the crystalline waters off of Cefalu’s most beautiful beaches, dive into the sapphire blue of the waters surrounding the Aeolian Islands, or enjoy an aperitif at sunset and a candlelight dinner in front of the picturesque old town.

Finally, cooking enthusiasts can discover the art of pastry making with interesting courses taught by Mon Chou-Chou, the recently opened family workshop in the heart of Cefalù.
