Feeling at home: the Dolce&Gabbana Casa Collection dedicated to the universe of furniture and accessories is a tribute to excellent craftsmanship, Italian design and the authentic codes of the brand’s DNA.
The patterns of the Collection’s themes – Sicilian Carretto, Mediterranean Blue, Leopard and Zebra – come to life on furniture, mise en place accessories, textiles and decorative objects that evoke a story that bespeaks love and hospitality, a passion for beauty and the art of living one’s everyday life.
“With Dolce&Gabbana Casa, we wanted to create a unique lifestyle. A lifestyle that represented our core values: craftsmanship, love for the handmade, respect for tradition and the pursuit of innovation,” say Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
From sofas in fine jacquard to tables in lacquered oak, and from accessorized bar furniture to armchairs covered in petit-point embroidery, the furnishing elements of the Dolce&Gabbana Casa Collection, created in partnership with Luxury Living Group, dialogue in harmony or contraposition with the complements: a unique narrative that places no limits on creativity, bringing out refined materials and elegant design.
Pillows made of twill, duchesse, velvet or canvas with unusual prints or inspired by archival scarves coordinate with silk and wool jersey plaids or lightweight printed quilts.
Proposals for the table include, among other creations, plates in hand-painted Sicilian ceramics or in printed and brush-glazed porcelain, to render the particular relief effect typical of handcrafted decoration, and lacquered wood or aluminum trays printed with the Collection’s creativities.
Decanters and glasses in Murano are hand blown, a true tribute to Italian craftsmanship, and styled in scenographic color combinations. A collection of candles, made even more distinctive by the design of the different packaging, brings the scents and colors of the Mediterranean into the home.
The themes of the Dolce&Gabbana Casa Collection
With its unique traditions, landscapes, flavors and colors, Sicily has always been at the heart of Dolce&Gabbana’s aesthetic. Elements of folklore symbolize and bear witness to the great devotion to the trades of this land: like the Sicilian Carretto, which from a humble means of transportation becomes a work of art and an epic tale of the island’s history, thanks to the skilful touch of the best craftsmen.
From the purity of white to the intensity of azure, Dolce&Gabbana’s Mediterranean Blue takes the mind on a sensory journey where scents, sounds and sensations bring to life a familiar and delicate aesthetic. This particular pattern with such an evocative character has deep roots in Southern Italy: a tribute to the values of handmade work and craftsmanship of excellence, a priceless heritage to be cherished and handed down.
Always a constant in Dolce&Gabbana’s DNA, the Leopard print expresses strong character and timeless appeal. Its classic and bold soul creates a play of contrasts that gives freedom of expression and ever-changing connotations, balancing eccentricity and sophistication, sensuality and energy.
The past and the future, artisanship and technology, tradition and innovation: the Zebra pattern symbolically sums up the dualism at the heart of Dolce&Gabbana’s DNA, with its combination of black and white and the arrangement of the never-similar stripes. A graphic pattern of great intensity that combines grit, boldness and a hint of irony.
The Advertising Campaign of the Dolce&Gabbana Casa Collection
The Dolce&Gabbana Casa Collection was narrated in an anthology of signature shots combining classic aesthetics and a contemporary gaze, which also featured Machine Gun Kelly: the first ADV Campaign of the new line dedicated to the art of home living, created by the photographer duo Mert&Marcus, transports one into a dreamlike dimension in which artistic inspiration dialogues with everyday objects, ennobled by unique creativity and design.
Mediterranean Blue, Sicilian Cart, Leopard and Zebra themes dominate the scene with their iconic patterns and references to Dolce&Gabbana’s most authentic DNA.
From strong correspondences with the traditional iconography of artistic nudes from the Renaissance to modernity, in dialogue with the aesthetics of the Dolce&Gabbana campaigns of the 2000s, the images shot by the photographer duo Mert&Marcus highlight the Casa Collection through striking contrasts: in a deliberately painterly style, the figures of the portrayed characters, clad only in the creativity of the furnishings that surround them, blend completely with the rest of the scenes with delicacy and passion.
