A sensorial journey to discover the art of food and wine is the focus of “Weekend del Gusto” that returns to Villa Terzaghi, running from June 17 to July 16.
A Month of Exquisite Flavors at Villa Terzaghi
Four weekends aimed at narrating the Milanese and Lombard summer through the most important protagonists of the contemporary culinary scene.
After the opening of the summer season made official by the graduation event delivered by the President of Associazione Maestro Martino Chef Carlo Cracco to the graduates of Villa Terzaghi for the school year 2022/2023, the restaurant in Robecco sul Naviglio (MI), gets dressed up for summer and prepares for the “Weekend del Gusto”.
The eno-gastronomic event brings together four appointments designed to support the new generation of Italian restaurateurs, promote the agri-food chain based on small producers and sustainability, and enhance the Lombard summer in a wonderful location that is only half an hour from Milan.
The former eighteenth-century hunting lodge nestled in the greenery of the Ticino Park, home of the Maestro Martino Association with an educational restaurant open to the public, will in fact be the protagonist of a series of dining initiatives related to food and wine culture, staged on weekends from June 17 to July 16.
In addition to the restaurant’s offer characterized by the new flavors of the summer menu, available from June 15, there will be extraordinary events and one-of-a-kind experiences, where innovative food realities will be the protagonists of the offer that will be narrated, not only through the new dishes but also with masterclasses, show-cooking, tastings as well as cultural events.
The Saturdays of Weekend del Gusto
Starting at lunchtime on Saturdays, when Villa Terzaghi’s Resident Chef Federico Urbani, together with the kitchen brigades, will offer a tasting of gourmet pizzas prepared live with seasonal and local products.
The magic of the sourdough starter, leavening, combinations with excellent ingredients from the territory, special flours from Molinodallagiovanna and Clementi pizza ovens for perfect baking are just some of the secrets to achieving true signature pizzas with an innovative take on the cornerstone of Italian cuisine par excellence.
On Saturdays at dinner, guests of Villa Terzaghi can instead enjoy the proposals of the menu designed specifically for the summer season.
The Sundays of Weekend del Gusto
In the morning and afternoon time, restaurant guests will be able to participate in sensory journeys covering themes ranging from vinegar to wines, via spices and essential oils.
A journey to discover local and Italian food and wine excellences presided over by important industry guests such as Acetaia Giusti for the world of balsamic vinegar from Modena, Prediomagno winery for Monferrato wines, I Magredi winery for Friuli and Villa Walter Fontana winery for Valtellina. Representing the spice universe will be expert Marco Savona of JS1599, while the exploration of essential oils will be by Minoprio Essenze.
Also in the afternoon, in the dehors of Villa Terzaghi, the best experts in the field will reveal all the secrets about the ritual of barbecue and grilling with masterclasses open to the public organized in collaboration with Wilfred, the online store of meats from the best farms in the world, and great experts in the field such as Chefs Franco Piperno (Patagonia Ristorante Argentino), Giovanni Baratta (Joe’s American BBQ – Joe Bastianich) and expert Davide Bigarella.
In the pre-dinner hours, Villa Terzaghi will offer an innovative version of the indispensable Milanese ritual, the Aperitivo. The restaurant’s proposal will focus on refined finger foods to be paired with exclusive signature cocktails, including coffee-based drinks by Caffè Hardy.
On the two Sundays in July, bartender Fabrizio Molteni will talk about how to prepare a sustainable cocktailwith total respect for nature and the environment through two master classes on mixology, nature, and the environment.
Finally, the summer menu of the restaurant line will be the star of Sunday lunch and dinner.
