The Ruffino Experience

Discover an enchanting getaway amongst the vineyards of Tuscany that immerses guests in an experience that brings a new meaning to wine tourism. Greeted with a warm welcome and surrounded by a sense of curated well-being, the Ruffino Experience, a project created by the famous Pontassieve-based winery, is the ideal escape for wine enthusiasts looking for something a little bit more.

Immersed in the World of Ruffino

The world-famous historic Tuscan wine brand is known around the world for its great classics such as Chianti Classico Riserva Ducale, Riserva Ducale Oro, Chianti Ruffino and Brunello di Montalcino Greppone Mazzi, as well as for its more recent Supertuscan creations, such as the award-winning Modus, and the innovative Aqua di Venus.

The Ruffino Experience takes place on the beautiful estate nestled among the vineyards of Poggio Casciano, in the heart of the Colli Fiorentini region. The name of the location has its origins in ancient Rome: “Poggio” in fact indicates “a terracing at the apex of a hill,” while “Casciano” seems to derive from “Cassius,” a commodore of the Roman army who was granted large land holdings in the area.

It is a place that brims with history and contemporaneity, every detail and act of care and beauty, housed in the heart of Tenute Ruffino Società Agricola’s agritourism hospitality location where guests can take part in wine tastings with sommeliers, learn the art of Tuscan cooking, dine on delicious foods, or lull the senses while relaxing at the pool or taking in the luscious nature that surrounds the estate.

Poggio Casciano – A Resort Experience for Wine Lovers

This agriresort is a refined accommodation set inside the historic Renaissance villa of the estate. The lovingly curated rooms create an oasis from the world with views of the vineyards, the Italian garden, and the infinity pool.

To fully experience the conviviality that characterizes the brand’s spirit of togetherness and tasteful living, a stay here offers the delicious flavors of local cuisine at its restaurant Locanda Le Tre Rane: a space that pays homage to the legend of a restaurant opened in Florence by Leonardo da Vinci and Sandro Botticelli and that, between tradition and experimentation, focuses on the quality of local and seasonal products.

Finally, at the Bottega del Vino it is possible to buy some of the best Tuscan gastronomic products, including, of course, the wines and extra virgin olive oil produced by the estate, as well as linger for breakfasts, lunches, snacks and aperitifs in the interior rooms or outdoors on the loggia or in the park.

Another don’t miss is the Tour & Tasting to discover Ruffino’s labels while visiting the winery’s cellar, pairing each wine with its ideal local food match. Among the various offers look for, wine tastings directly from the barrel to discover all the secrets of aging, tastings of historic vintages and finally the cooking school, guided by the Brand Ambassadors for an experience that will last a lifetime.

Music lovers will also delight with the summer festival “Under the Stars” organized at the Poggio Casciano estate of Ruffino – a line-up that includes a calendar full of live evening events such as nationally renowned jazz, singer-songwriter, and easy-rock artists who perform in the park of the estate, alternating with DJ set nights, cinema, as well as talks and special events. This is yet another chance to enjoy Ruffino’s Living Taste philosophy – a belief that wine celebrates the pleasure of being together under the sign of all that is beautiful and good.
