Wine&Thecity 2023

On Monday, May 8, the Monumental Complex of Santa Maria La Nova will host the opening of the wine and culture event of the 15th Edition of Wine&Thecity featuring art, mystery, and pop music, in the city of Naples.

The Event in Naples

Events will begin at 8 p.m. with a narrated walk to discover the artistic-religious complex founded in 1279: accompanied by Prof. Giuseppe Reale, Director of the site, we will visit the late Renaissance Church, with its large carved wooden ceiling decorated in pure gold, the Sacristy, the Refectory, but also lesser-known and mysterious corners of the complex, it seems in fact that Vlad III known as Count Dracula is buried here.

The evening continues in the magnificent cloisters that host the tasting trail and the performance of the band and pop choir directed by Maestro Carlo Morelli: That’s Napoli Live Show is an overwhelming show in a crescendo of rhythm, 17 singers and 4 musicians with strong personalities, voices extremely different from each other, united by a single purpose: to spread energy and lightness through Music. On the program is a nonconformist repertoire that enhances and colors sounds by presenting reworkings of classic and timeless songs and more current pop-dance pieces.

Featuring Wine from Campania  

The event will also feature wines of the Sannio Consorzio Tutela Vini, which today has more than 2,000 winemakers: a wide selection of labels from Campania’s great vineyard will be tasted, from bubbles to whites to reds from the Sannio Benevento area, narrated by sommeliers from Ais Napoli.

Highlighting Regional Delicacies

The food experience is entrusted to Sole Ricevimenti, a leader in the field of event organization and management, which offers modern and original specialties related to Neapolitan and Italian culinary traditions. Artisanal bread in infinite variations of shape and taste, with taralli and breadsticks, on the other hand, are from Antico Forno Antonio Rescigno, a historical partner of Wine&Thecity. Buffalo mozzarella cherries are from the historic brand Ciro Amodio, producers of quality dairy products for five generations.

The sweet finale is by Mulino Caputo with babas and other mouth-watering creations by Pasticceria Salvatore Capparelli. After dinner, Magma Gin will cap off the evening with its first distillate obtained from the processing of herbs harvested from the pine forests of Vesuvius, a gin characterized by a strong flavor and volcanic spirit.
